Dear Woman’s Club of Pewaukee Members,

Please join us at our next Luncheon on Thursday, February 7, at the Water Street Brewery in Delafield (I-94 and Hwy 83). This is a new location!!!

February is National Heart Month! Women: Listen up. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women age 20 and over and more women die of cardiovascular disease than the next four causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer. In the United States, one in 30 women die of breast cancer; while one in three die of cardiovascular disease….We have much to learn about our hearts!

We are asking everyone to please wear something RED to our luncheon in honor of National Heart Month! Our guest speaker is Dr. Lynn Dolan from the Wheaton Franciscan Medical Group, who will speak about diet and exercise for a heart healthy lifestyle. Arrival time is 11:15-11:45 a.m. Our meeting will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. with our Collect and Pledge of Allegience. Lunch will be served between 12:00 noon and 12:15 p.m. Raffle winners will be announced at 12:30 p.m. Working women will have the opportunity to excuse themselves at 12:45 p.m. Our guest speaker will begin following and our meeting will end around 1:15 p.m. Social time after our meeting is unlimited! Feel free to stay as long as you wish!

Remember, if you cannot attend a monthly Membership Meeting, be sure to call Ella at 691-4211 to let her know so you are not charged $15.00 for lunch. RSVP’s are due by the Monday before our meeting!

Please remember the Pewaukee Food Pantry! This month the Food Pantry is in need of mac ‘n cheese, Spaghetti O’s (small 16 oz cans) or Ravioli in a can. Thank you in advance for remembering those in need. Bring your items to our meeting and your name will be put in a basket to win a mystery prize in the black box!
    Helen Farnsworth Mears Art Contest

Our HFM Art Reception is Saturday, February 9, from 11am-1pm at the Pewaukee Public Library. If you volunteered to help at the event, Ruth will be contacting you. The GFWC-WI Helen Farnsworth Mears Art Contest features artwork from 7th and 8th Graders in the Lake Country area. The Pewaukee Area Arts Council (PAAC) partners with us on this project by providing gift baskets to our winners. Our winning students from this local contest will compete with other young artists from southern Wisconsin, and those winners compete with students at the State level. In addition to this contest, our club members may also participate at the District Spring Meeting! You may submit entries in photography, arts and crafts, or art. Almost anything can be entered! The only requirement is that is must have been created in 2012-2013. Go ahead and be creative! We are not doing a bake sale this year.
