To provide support and financial assistance to our community, the GFWC Woman’s Club of Pewaukee actively looks for opportunities to raises funds. At years-end, as many as 19 local organizations will receive a donation from the club. In May 2021 we contributed over $15,750.
We achieve our goal through two major categories:
MAJOR FUNDRAISERS
Spring Fundraiser 2021 – “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend”
Member enthusiasm quickly transformed what started as an informal spring “high tea” into a second major fundraising event.
In 2021, due to the impact of COVID-19 in 2020, this event was our major fundraiser. It was held at the Ingleside Hotel on April 21st! It included a raffle, silent and live auctions, lunch, and entertainment. “Neil Diamond,” our featured entertainer.
Fall Event 2019 — “Razzle Dazzle”
“Razzle Dazzle” is our premium event. It had to be canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. In the past, it has been held at a local hotel. The event draws between 200-225 attendees. It includes a raffle, silent and live auction, lunch, and entertainment. At our last event in 2019 we provided our guests with a wonderful program – “Dueling Pianos.”
That time our special in-kind donation group was the Hope Center. Attendees contributed a literal car-full of coffee to help the Hope Center’s dinner and day center programs.
GENERAL MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING ACTIVITIES
Meeting Raffle
Every meeting includes some type of in-kind raffle. In addition to being great fun, we raise approximately $1000 each year that goes into our general distribution fund.
Membership Meeting fundraising in-kind activities
The Pewaukee Food Pantry is our banner group and receives food and other needed articles every month. This year, additional items were collected for several other groups: non-perishable food for the local elementary school “snack” program; used athletic shoes for “Soles4Souls, new Dr. Seuss Books, and small ladies items for “Women in the Military.”
Every fundraising activity requires significant member-donated time and/or tangible contributions. Club members are selfless in meeting these needs. There is always room for more help!
