Here\u2019s another sign of Spring, the Helen Farnsworth Mears<\/u> Art Contest is coming to the\u00a0Pewaukee Library on March 2nd<\/sup><\/u>.\u00a0 See the announcement with details from Sue Goldstone listing time and volunteers who signed on to help We partner with PAAC to bring this student art contest and reception to our community.\u00a0 All members are welcome to attend!<\/p>\n

Our next membership meeting will be on Thursday, March 7th<\/sup><\/u> at the Pewaukee Library,\u00a0This month\u2019s program will feature a special presentation by Junior Achievement.\u00a0Also attending we will have a special guest, Nancy Dickman.\u00a0 She is President of the GFWC-WI Rolling Hills District.<\/p>\n

The Food Pantry would appreciate donations of breakfast cereals, including oatmeal.
\nThanks to Judy Litvin for her dedication to this worthwhile effort in our community.<\/p>\n

Happy Birthday and Irish Blessings go to Fran Holloway on March 8th<\/sup>,\u00a0\u00a0 Kathy Novack\u00a0on the 25th<\/sup>, \u00a0\u00a0Karen Merz o n the 27th<\/sup>,\u00a0 Kathy Oleinik on the 28th<\/sup>, and\u00a0 Barb Janke and Lori Seeboth on the 31st<\/sup>.\u00a0 Keep those Irish eyes smiling!<\/p>\n

Our February meeting was canceled due to severe weather conditions.\u00a0 Thanks to\u00a0those members who helped by calling to declare a snow day.\u00a0 Our hostesses for that\u00a0meeting, Kathy Novack and Sherry Foyer,\u00a0 had planned special treats and decorations which we sadly missed.\u00a0 The planned speakers will be rescheduled for next year.<\/p>\n

As a result of that missed meeting, there were no minutes to be recorded.<\/p>\n

However, other important events happened in February, like the Red Cross Blood Drive.\u00a0Thanks to Mary Dietz and many of our members who volunteered and those who\u00a0donated blood.\u00a0 The Red Cross sent us a thank you note for a successful event where\u00a028 units were collected, and 84 people saved.\u00a0 Good work ladies!<\/p>\n

On February 15 to 17, we traveled to Waupaca for the GFWC-WI Workshop & LEADS\u00a0Meeting .\u00a0 Abby Lorenz, Nancy Niedziela, Kathy Novack and I had another wonderful weekend of learning and sharing.\u00a0 We look forward to April 6th at the Rolling Hills District. Meeting, and hope many of you will also attend in Boscobel.<\/p>\n

At our last Garden Party Committee, we were excited to hear that Ginny Lockman\u2019s\u00a0husband, would be joining an upcoming Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. . Then we\u00a0announced that our entertainment would be the award-winning, best local Americana\u00a0band, The Whiskeybelles.\u00a0 Then it was suggested that we should re-name our event,\u00a0\u201cAmericana Party\u201d<\/u> where we celebrate our Vets and everything USA.\u00a0 .<\/p>\n

It will again be at the Pewaukee Yacht Club on Thursday, April 25th<\/sup>, and of course,\u00a0Hats will be included!\u00a0 Please see the list of suggested donations from Joy Allen.\u00a0Thanks to Sue Goldstone and committee for their wonderful efforts.<\/p>\n
