                                                                                        March 2019

     Hello Members,

It’s time to welcome daylight savings time, and St Patrick’s Day!  Need a smile?
    Found it-click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ucWthf3CqA

Here’s another sign of Spring, the Helen Farnsworth Mears Art Contest is coming to the Pewaukee Library on March 2nd.  See the announcement with details from Sue Goldstone listing time and volunteers who signed on to help We partner with PAAC to bring this student art contest and reception to our community.  All members are welcome to attend!

Our next membership meeting will be on Thursday, March 7th at the Pewaukee Library, This month’s program will feature a special presentation by Junior Achievement. Also attending we will have a special guest, Nancy Dickman.  She is President of the GFWC-WI Rolling Hills District.

For detailed information about this meeting, please refer to your Membership Book, or go to www.womansclubofpewaukee.com.  Remember, if a member is not able to attend a meeting, it is her responsibility to contact Jaynee Andree at jandree@wi.rr.com or 262-305-6270 by Monday, March 4th.

The Food Pantry would appreciate donations of breakfast cereals, including oatmeal.
Thanks to Judy Litvin for her dedication to this worthwhile effort in our community.

Happy Birthday and Irish Blessings go to Fran Holloway on March 8th,   Kathy Novack on the 25th,   Karen Merz o n the 27th,  Kathy Oleinik on the 28th, and  Barb Janke and Lori Seeboth on the 31st.  Keep those Irish eyes smiling!

Our February meeting was canceled due to severe weather conditions.  Thanks to those members who helped by calling to declare a snow day.  Our hostesses for that meeting, Kathy Novack and Sherry Foyer,  had planned special treats and decorations which we sadly missed.  The planned speakers will be rescheduled for next year.

As a result of that missed meeting, there were no minutes to be recorded.

However, other important events happened in February, like the Red Cross Blood Drive. Thanks to Mary Dietz and many of our members who volunteered and those who donated blood.  The Red Cross sent us a thank you note for a successful event where 28 units were collected, and 84 people saved.  Good work ladies!

On February 15 to 17, we traveled to Waupaca for the GFWC-WI Workshop & LEADS Meeting .  Abby Lorenz, Nancy Niedziela, Kathy Novack and I had another wonderful weekend of learning and sharing.  We look forward to April 6th at the Rolling Hills District. Meeting, and hope many of you will also attend in Boscobel.

At our last Garden Party Committee, we were excited to hear that Ginny Lockman’s husband, would be joining an upcoming Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. . Then we announced that our entertainment would be the award-winning, best local Americana band, The Whiskeybelles.  Then it was suggested that we should re-name our event, “Americana Party” where we celebrate our Vets and everything USA.  .

It will again be at the Pewaukee Yacht Club on Thursday, April 25th, and of course, Hats will be included!  Please see the list of suggested donations from Joy Allen. Thanks to Sue Goldstone and committee for their wonderful efforts.

Hope to see you at our next meeting on March 7th.

    Ella Dzioba,
    President
