Dear Woman’s Club of Pewaukee Members,

Please join us at our next Luncheon on Thursday, March 7, at Foundations Bank located at N35 W23877 Highfield Ct on the corner of Capitol Drive and Hwy 164 in Pewaukee. Our lunch hostesses are Ginny Armstrong and Lana Jerabek, and we will be enjoying pizza for lunch! Our guest speaker is Tom Koepp of the Lake Pewaukee Sanitary District to provide information about the Wetlands Conservancy Fund. Please arrive between 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. Our meeting will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. with our Collect and Pledge of Allegience. Remember, if you cannot attend a monthly Membership Meeting, be sure to call Ella at 691-4211 to let her know so you are not charged $15.00 for lunch. RSVP’s are due by Monday!

Please remember the Pewaukee Food Pantry! This month the Food Pantry is in need of macaroni and cheese or meals in a can. Thank you in advance for remembering those in need. Bring your items to our meeting and your name will be put in a basket to win a mystery prize in the black box!

    Did you Know?

The Woman’s Club of Pewaukee is part of a District, State, National and International Organization called the General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC). Our club was organized in 1904 and we joined the State Federation in 1920. In 1929 we were elected to Membership in the GFWC. Our club consists of several community service departments including Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Affaris, Public Affairs and other Special Projects. If you have a special interest in certain projects, please contact the Chair Person listed on pages 4 & 5 in your Membership Booklet. We encourage members to take the lead on new projects! What are your interests? Do you want to make a difference by educating the community about “going green”, women’s health issues, or domestic violence? Other ideas? Simply contact one of the Board members to get started! In the recent past we have helped restock pediatric bags in local ambulances, purchased planters to beautify the downtown, collaborated with other nonprofits to help a cause, held fundraisers, new member teas and hosted art contests to showcase our local student artists. YOU can get involved however you wish! The sky is the limit! We all have gifts and passions. What is YOURS?
GFWC-WI Helen Farnsworth Mears Art Contest

Special thanks to everyone who volunteered to bake, serve, hang artwork or judge the Helen Farnsworth Mears Art Contest! The Art Reception on February 9 at the Pewaukee Public Library was very well attended, and the artwork on display was excellent! Our winning students from this local contest will compete with other young artists from southern Wisconsin, and those winners compete with students at the State level. Remember, club members may also participate at the District Spring Meeting! You may submit entries in photography, arts and crafts, or art. Almost anything can be entered! The only requirement is that it must have been created in 2012-2013. Go ahead and be creative! Please contact Ruth Harken or Sue Goldstone for further information.
    High Tea with Eleanor Roosevelt

Mark your calendars! Our next fundraiser is coming up fast! Please join us on Thursday, April 18, at 4pm for High Tea featuring a theatrical performance of Eleanor Roosevelt, “First Lady of the World” at Galilee Lutheran Church. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Admission includes hot tea or coffee, pastries and other desserts, raffle prizes and the live performance about Eleanor Roosevelt . We need your help to make our event a success! Both new and heirloom raffle items are needed. Please consider donating vintage jewelry such as cameos, pearls, doilies, or perfume bottles, or new usable items such as wine, tea pots, tea bags or gift certificates to restaurants, tickets to events, or gift cards from any retail stores. Donations can be brought to our next meeting, or by calling Abby at 262-468-4914 for pickup. We hope you can join us at this special fundraiser, and perhaps even bring a friend. Watch for your invitation in the mail!
